SnapCardValue ("we", "us") lets you scan a trading card and see an estimated market value. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep the data we collect to the minimum the app needs to work.

In short: we collect your email so you can have an account, the card details from your scans so you can keep a collection, and we send the photo you take to an AI service to identify the card. We don't sell your data.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier from that provider and the email address associated with it (Apple may provide a private relay address if you choose). We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Card photos

When you scan a card, the app captures a photo and sends it to our AI provider to identify the card. The photo is used to identify the card and is not stored in your collection — only the identified details (name, set, number, year, category) are saved to your history. See "Service providers" below for who processes the image.

Scan history

For each scan we save the identified card details and the date to your account, so you can view your collection. This history is private to your account.

Usage & device data

Like most apps, we may collect basic technical information (app version, device type, and error logs) to keep the service running and fix problems.

How we use your information

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us:

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above to run the app, or where required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account information and scan history for as long as your account is active. Scanned photos are retained only as long as needed to identify the card and are not stored in your collection. If you delete your account, we delete your account information and scan history, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@snapcardvalue.com. You can also delete your account from within the app.

Children

SnapCardValue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit what we collect.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
